Another Manic Panic post, this is basically to show how you can mix your Manic Panic shades to achieve the exact shade you’re looking for. I’ve always been into the red shades of manic and mixing the purples, but I never once thought about the hot pink color. This is actually pretty much the exact color I was looking for! The hot pink had a violet tone to it, it was perfect for what I wanted. I mixed the hot pink shade with red to help balance it out, but I have decided, the next time I dye my hair I’m going to use the hot pink alone. I love it!
These are the jars, the colors separated, and the final color with the mix of the two, and finally, the result of the color. Keep in mind, the ends of my hair have been bleached and my hair already contains a lot of red pigment from previous dyes. Depending on your actual hair color, the colors may look different then what it does on mine.

how much of the hot pink and passion red do u mix to achieve this color?
I mixed them both exactly half way, then began adding more hot pink into it by eyeballing it. Start off with both half way and add as much pink as you are comfortable with!

Can I get this color without bleaching beforehand?
aawww I so want to do this but I have burnt the front of my scalp with a Garnier home dye
it’s getting better but still weeping a bit (yuk!!) I will NEVER ever put a perm dye on my hair ever again. Once my scalp is recovered it’s manic panic all the way!!! My hair is a nice frazzled pale/pink/ weird peach colour (yummy). It is a good job I have a sense of human and can laugh at myself otherwise I’d be ringing in sick at work!!!

So I dyed my hair with L’Oreal High Color in Red.
It came out really nice but as you know it is already fading! >.<
But I am afraid to dye it again because of the damage it's doing so I was very happy to hear about Manic Panic! I got Red Passion and I was wondering what effect I will get by just using that, will it get me bright red hair? My hair is already sort of lightened by the L'Oreal High Color I used before. I NEVER dye my hair more than once with the loreal hicolor. I only lift my roots with it. It shouldn’t be used as a regular all around dye. Just stick to doing your roots with it and use the manic panic to freshen up the rest of your hair
Hi Sara! Just stumbled on your corner of the world and WOW love your color. I’m natural blonde, and an MP addict as well. I have Purple Haze and was thinking about mixing it with a jar of Red Passion I still have? Have you tried this combo? Will be picking up Vamp Red for a true burgundy once the Passion is gone.

My hair is a dirty blonde color, do you think I’ll have to bleach it to get the color you have?
I’m not too sure, since my hair is dark brown and lifted to a bright red (with L’oreal Hicolor) I can’t really say I will know how your hair will turn out. I think if you’re going for a more toned down red, not as much of a true bright red, I personally would not bleach.
