The usual looks I see on the runway for makeup are different eyeliner techniques or sometimes, absolutely beautiful natural looks with the perfect dewy skin (and so on). For this years fall 2011 trend, it seems they have REALLY broken the makeup rules! You always hear, “don’t wear orange eyeshadow, it tends to make you look ill and unhealthy” and “don’t clump your mascara or over apply,” yet these are the very trends of the year…and I must admit, I absolutely love orange shadow and I love heavy mascara with a bold deep lip. I am absolutely in love with Gucci and Rodarte’s runway looks this year!

The orange shadow especially looks beautiful on those with blue eyes because, going back to the color wheel, blue and orange are opposite from one another, which means they, together, are very complementing. I think it is absolutely beautiful. Something to wear to the grocery store? Of course not. Getting creative and playing with color? Definitely.
