DIY: Cut out Skull T-shirt

skull cutout tshirt

A super simple Do It Yourself project. I’m sure if you’re a tumblr user, you have seen photos of this inspired shirt surfacing your dashboard. I absolutely fell in love with it and came across an extremely similar shirt while shopping on Melrose. Did I want to spend around $50-60 dollars on it? No. This tshirt cost me about $5!

Supplies needed:
Desired t-shirt
Scissors
Pencil/Pen/Anything you can sketch with

Step 1. Lay the t-shirt out on a flat surface so it can stay perfectly wrinkle free. We will be working on the back of the t-shirt.
Step 2. Sketch out two simple circles for the eyes. Make sure to leave a “line” in the middle. They don’t need to be perfect! The sloppier the better.
Step 3. Sketch a smaller circle (again, with the “line” in the middle) for the nose.
Step 4. Sketch eight triangles in total. 4 on the top, 4 on the bottom for the mouth.
Step 5. Cut out a long and thin half circle on the edges
Step 6. Begin cutting. To do so, poke the scissor through the shirt first then begin snipping.
Step 7. After cutting all the shapes, pull them in order to stretch them out so any rough edges will look smooth and clean

All done! This can be worn with a tank top underneath to enhance the skull’s face and have it show up better when worn. I suggest wearing it with some black leggings, combat boots, Ray Ban Wayfarer sunglasses, and a big chunky statement bracelet. :) xo
