FOTD – Smokey Pin up

smokey pin up makeup

Hello! :) I am excited to say I was featured in a photo shoot today with Tinizine (www.Tinizine.com) for their February cover issue that will be coming out next month. The last look for the shoot is the one shown in the photo. It was pretty much a more dramatic smoked out pin up inspired look.

I used airbrush makeup because I was being photographed and it lasted amazing being out in the sun and also in doors surrounded by lights. Sweat proof! :D I used OCC’s brand with some smashbox concealer in fair. I then did a neutral eye as I normally would using Sugarpill cosmetics (Tako) and some browns from Makeup Forever. I finally deepened my crease with Nars shadow and did my regular winged liner and false lashes. I applied MAC’s blush in harmony and loverush. I then lined with red lip liner and filled in with MAC’s diva lipstick. It isn’t visible in the photo but I had my bottom lashline lined with Sugarpill’s yellow and purple shadows and my waterline lined with NYX eyeliner in brown.

Stay on the look out for my feature on Tinizine! :D xo

    Hey Sara !!

I’m following your blog for inspiration as your so talented. I have never used airbrush foundation before and was curious how you applied it, with the airbrush machine or brushes? Thanks do much

Hello! Thank you! :D I have just started using airbrush and I apply it with an airbrush machine, however the product I use (OCC’s airbrush foundation) can be applied without using an airbrush machine if preferred. :)

Thanks so much for that I’m looking at giving the airbrush a go. Can I ask what brand machine you use and if you recommend airbrush for an everyday look? Thanks so much for taking the time to reply

I use the Iwata Ninja jet. I think it is too much for everyday, just because I personally don’t like the idea of cleaning the gun too often etc, but it is a beautiful flawless finish. I just like to keep it for special events or important days. :)
