FOTD & OOTD – Black & Yellow

plaid shirt outfit

I spent the Martin Luther King day with a close friend of mine, having lunch and shopping. It was relaxing enough to not have my aesthetics school at the end of the day so I had time to do a bit of a fun and dramatic look.

I seriously cannot get myself to wear full cover foundation anymore and I thank my new knowledge on skin care through schooling and my new face routine for that! My skin has cleared up so much that it actually looks horrible to me wearing full cover now. My skin no longer needs it.

Since I did do a dramatic eye, I decided it was mandatory to have some type of coverage on. I used MAC Face & Body foundation and Makeup Forevers Full Cover concealer to do so. I am wearing Blunt blush, PRO Yellow Chromaline, and Blankety lipstick by MAC. My eyes were done using both of Sugarpill’s palettes and Nar’s Pandora shadow quad. My lashes are by Miss Adoro I believe? I threw out the container and have worn these before so I am unsure, but they are pretty natural!

P.S. Sorry for the low quality photos, my camera is currently dead and needs some recharging :P

Howdy dollface! omg I have become a fan of your blog from the allure.com I really dig your site. I am especially digging these older posts, since I can relate to some whether its me or my sister. Anyways, I have been trying to get away from wearing full coverage makeup/foundation/globs of concealer/and powder galore. What tips can you give on how to ween from it? The thing is some makeup artists have said its not bad to put a lot of makeup on, but while I respect what she says and shares (althoug she looks quite plastic and layered/masky) I am more comfortable feeling a lightness on my skin..like its actually breathing and not suffocating with foundation. I love eye makeup though…so I dont think I could drop the eyes.

Thank you so much! As far as getting away from full coverage, I am currently in the same process. I save full coverage for days I wear heavier makeup. The way to ween off of it while still covering areas of concern would be to apply concealer exactly where you need it and lightly dust a powder over the rest of your face if needed. The way I personally was able to wear less was because I started taking care of my skin and did not need as much coverage. I have also gotten into mineral makeup recently and it gives off good light coverage. Your skin definitely needs to “breathe” on days so its good to take a break from all that foundation!
